Reflexive Pronouns Definition

A reflexive pronoun is used when the object is the same as the subject in a sentence and ends in -self or -selves. These include myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, and themselves.

Examples of Reflexive Pronouns

Some examples of reflexive pronouns would be the following:

  • Charlie told himself not to be nervous before giving his speech.
  • I reminded myself to do laundry before leaving the house.
  • Lola hurt herself while lifting weights at the gym.
  • We treated ourselves to ice cream after dinner.
